      Good People

o soy milk carton         I just want to recycle you          I just want
you to go on & fulfil your life dreams
of being pulped
& reused to make new cartons
& hold other consumable liquids               like orange juice                 or almond milk
except we can't call almond milk
                                          almond milk anymore
because it's too misleading                    & causes innocent shoppers to
imagine almonds with tiny almond teats being milked by
almond farmers who get up at 4am everyday
nobody wants to think about that while they do
their grocery shopping

you can't be a good person even if you recycle
if only everyone didn't already have their own piles of used plastic
maybe we could find someone to buy all of our piles of used plastic
                                                   synthetic clothes release
particles into the ocean every time you wash them
& I have dreams of drowning in a sea of bubble wrap
while around me people lounge on cruise ships drinking
pina coladas & saying                                 But I Use Them For Bin Line
I have dreams of me and all my friends buying
organic compostable biodegradable faux-plastic wrap
made from buckwheat and coconut fibre
while billionaires build single-use bouncy castles the size of islands
and we panic like housewives in the 80s doing bad jazzercise
choreography in front of the television while the house
burns down around us                         Pump those arms girls

can you feel the burn yet
