           Technicolour Dreamcake

well now I must admit to painting you
            in an unsayably saturated light

            pre-raphaelite nymphknave incendiary
            knelt among wildflowers

            bulging with significance
            souped up from the loam

            swaddled in kerosene fragrance
I yield to pheromone and accident

between our fluorescent camo and exposed roots
we can only guess what moths might flock to us
